Good Faith Estimate

No Surprises Act

In January of 2022, the No Surprises Act went into effect, giving all clients a right to a “Good Faith Estimate” to understand how much their health care services will cost.

Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers and health care facilities are required to provide a good faith estimate of expected charges for items and services to individuals who are not enrolled in a plan or coverage of a federal health care program (uninsured individuals), or not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage (self-pay individuals), both orally and in writing, upon request or at the time of scheduling services.

At the Center for Anxiety Disorders, your estimate will be sent with your intake paperwork, but you will not need to sign off on it. It is simply information provided to you.

If you receive a bill that is $400 or more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
